Description

In collaboration with the Maine PCA, the School-Based Health Alliance is offering a training for health centers addressing partnering with schools to deliver high quality care for Maine’s children and adolescents. School-based health care is a powerful investment in the health and academic potential of children and adolescents. School-based health care delivers convenient, accessible, and wide-ranging primary and mental health care services to students where they already spend most of their time: in school.

In this training, participants will learn about the SBHC model, establishing relationships with the education system, determining the health care and health-related educational needs of students in their communities, and begin developing a plan for bringing health care to schools. Participants will explore a range of options--from bringing individual health care services to schools, such as oral health care-- to operating a comprehensive SBHC.

This training will take place at the University of Southern Maine – Portland Campus - 88 Bedford Street (Abromson Center, Rooms 109/110)

Please take a moment to fill out this short pre-workshop questionnaire. Your answers will help the presenters tailor their content to fit the needs and interests of participants of the training. https://www.surveygizmo.com/s3/5197283/Health-Centers-and-Schools-Pre-Questionnaire

Target Audience: CEOs, CMOs, all staff who work in SBHCs (including non FQHCs), school administrators, and school nurses.
